TreeCapture

TreeCapture was one of my early projects. it managed tree and tree work information, displaying an interactive, clickable map of trees and the work that had been done on them; this information in turn was maintained by the crews using PDAs.

The arrival of the smartphone largely killed off the PDA concept - everyone rushed to start selling these shiny new smartphones, which (at the time) sadly did not offer good enough coverage for the crews - much of the work they did was in rural areas or coverage black-spots, and "always connected" solutions , needing a permanent internet connection to view and edit data, simply don't work.
